Chappell Roan - Hot To Go! (Bandhug collab)

American singer-songwriter Chappell Roan is very popular in Australia at the moment, having recently taken out the coveted top spot on radio station Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown with her single “Good Luck, Babe!” Another song of hers called “Hot To Go!” became a massive hit after a dance that is similar to the one used for The Village People’s “Y.M.C.A.” went viral on social media. This collab is the first one that I had started on Bandhug for well over a year, due to other musical endeavours taking up my time. The project took a little while to get going, after I had initiated proceedings in mid-January of 2025. Soon enough though, the track submissions started coming in with all of them sounding astonishing! This collab may just be one of the best-sounding that I have ever done, either on Bandhug or the older Bandhub! That’s a big call, but I believe it’s warranted! I was able to mark it as complete just over two weeks after I had started working on it, which is always such a nice feeling!

Billie Eilish - Ocean Eyes (Bandhug collab)

This is one of Billie Eilish’s earlier releases, and I must say that I much prefer it over her later works. That’s purely my opinion though. Like many artists before her, it sounds like she has changed her style and somewhat evolved over the years since this song was unleashed into the world. I started this collab back in August of 2021, with that year being arguably one of my most productive on Bandhug. As I recall, this project came together rather rapidly which is always pleasing. Just about all of the tracks were submitted, except for the backing vocals. I have been pursuing other musical endeavours since that time in my life, and it was only recently that I returned to Badhug for some more online collaboration. Marjolein happily resubmitted her vocal track, complete with beautiful backing harmonies. This was after I had resent her an invitation to do them, as it had been such a long time! I am proud to say this collab is now finished as of January 2025. To me, it doesn’t matter how long it takes to complete a given project. It’s always the end result that matters the most, not necessarily the path that is taken to get there.
